Travlrr explores the different ways brands and agencies can create content from afar

Travlrr explores the different ways brands and agencies can create content from afar.

This is our first news piece as recent members of LBB. To note we are not creatives, copywriters, nor are we an agency or a production company, think of Travlrr as a curated production platform to enable agencies and brand to create content from afar.

We are all adapting our new ways of working and we can see some leading production suppliers shift more into remote working, from remote edit houses, sound studios and post houses offering such services. Within other sectors we see the likes of Deliveroo now being adopted by more high end restaurants, now offering a reduced menu and can delivery to your doorstep. All businesses are challenged with new ways of working with varying levels of complexity. Content production is no different and the challenge has been how to create foreign content economically with reduced capacity in flying anyone to an ever growing list of countries.

Technology can enable productions and with the advent of production platforms in various forms there are now an increasing amount of ways in which people can create. Like most new platforms most people need to figure out the model, the benefits and how easy they are to use compared to the traditional way of working. Similarly are there any drawbacks, timing considerations. Technology and such should be saving something somewhere without compromising on service, think AirBnb or Uber.

With the ever changing restrictions local production companies can update you on 'how things are on the ground' and what restrictions may impact your production. From insurance, location restrictions and taking out risk assessments. We are seeing some productions postponed, some with altered creative and some being spread out over more shoot days. We also have locations where full shoots can still take place and some of the Asian markets starting to relax their local restriction policies.

We are seeing brands tell different stories and there are so many to be told as our collective world changes in front of us, perhaps quicker than most of us would like. We have seen a shift from selling products and services into more purpose led communications and more so from Brands who can assist. From Unilever offering a fund and products to BrewDog with hand sanitiser and Dyson pivoting to help out with respirator manufacturing. This can all be content and these types of stories need to be told so we can collectively learn and adapt into a new way of living and working.

No doubt there are challenges that face us all personally and our ability to conduct business. Below are some examples of how you can still create some content:

  • Shot lists / B-Roll - Shots which can then be edited in-house
  • Full content and ads shot in countries that haven't had a full lockdown with full post production facilities available
  • Pre-Commission and Ideas Brief production companies, agree creative and budgets.so everything is prepared to shoot as soon as the Coronavirus ends and production can commence
  • Use existing assets to create new ads with brand messages i.e. we are here to help, flexibility, purpose and keeping front of mind

Most of the work commissioned via Travlrr is private but you can see a couple of examples of use via a published blog on our website earlier this month. Travlrr blog - CV19

Keep safe and keep moving on as best you can.
