2020 marks 30 years since Corona beer debuted its iconic ‘O’Tannenpalm’ TV commercial and to celebrate, the brand delivered a little slice of paradise to folks in Corona Del Mar, California. Why Corona Del Mar? Well, because Corona know more than most that anything bearing the name Corona may need a little extra holiday cheer this year.
Yesterday, Corona outfitted a flatbed truck with a replica of the beach hut from the famed commercial, alongside palm trees adorned with twinkling lights. Then, a team of Corona brand ambassadors with appropriate PPE dropped fully-decorated palm trees on people’s doorsteps, helping to share a bit of socially-distanced joy.
Through Friday, December 11th, Corona will expand deliveries to residents of all of California. People can enter a sweepstakes for a chance to receive a palm tree of their own. All they have to do is follow @CoronaExtraUSA and reply with #FelizNavidadSweepstakes.
Additionally, Corona is donating $30K to #HashtagLunchbag in honour of the ‘O’Tannenpalm’ 30th anniversary. #HashtagLunchbag is a non-profit organisation that creates and distributes bagged lunches nationwide, accompanied by inspiring, handwritten messages. Corona’s donation will directly impact those in need in the greater Los Angeles and Orange County area.
