Creative agency CORNETT has appointed seven people across several divisions, including creative, media and account planning, president Christy Hiler announced today.

“New business and the fact that we’re evolving as an agency allow us the opportunity to both promote and add to our incredible team,” Hiler said of the growth spurt.

Assistant media planner and buyer Paige Hansen works across all of CORNETT’s paid-media clients. Paige is a May 2020 graduate of University of Kentucky with a BA in integrated strategic communications. She was a participant in the National Student Advertising Competition and was philanthropy chair for the Rho Iota c hapter of Phi Mu.

Sr. digital engagement manager Robert Baker joined CORNETT in March after building his own digital and creative consultancy, Yazoo Motif. His photography and videography helped anchor the social media accounts of NBA player Willie Cauley-Stein and other NBA teams and properties. Baker currently oversees digital engagement and content for several Sazerac bourbons and Toyota’s Kentucky Experience Center. He also contributes to the overall creative output for many of the agency’s clients.

Digital engagement manager Tajah McQueen came to CORNETT from Louisville Public Media, where her focus on news gathering and engagement primed her for a client-focused digital-engagement role.

She’s the primary community manager and engagement specialist for several Sazerac bourbon brands as well as specialty brands like Freddie’s Old Fashioned Sodas. Prior to Louisville Public Media, Tajah gained event, sales and programming experience with Girls Rock Louisville and HiCotton Hospitality.

Associate copywriter Matt Mesa grew up in Miami and currently resides in Atlanta. Before graduating from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in advertising in the fall of 2019, he was part of the student-run ad agency, an experience that allowed him to work directly with brands like Coca-Cola and Twitter. At CORNETT, his clients include UK HealthCare, Tempur-Sealy, and the University of Kentucky.

Associate copywriter Phillip Burrows joined CORNETT in Lexington last month and works on clients like Sazerac (Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Eagle Rare Bourbon, Weller Bourbon, 1792 Bourbon), Keeneland and others. He plays a big role in traditional campaign and branding work as well as content creation for several social media accounts.

Senior art director Aaron Lugo was an art director for large companies (JCPenney, Michael's) before working briefly in Big Pharma. He then headed back to Louisville agency Scoppechio for a few years and then at NIMBUS for the past few months, where brands such as GE Appliances, el Jimador Tequila, KFC, and Papa John’s have filled his timesheets and dreams and nightmares. At CORNETT, he’s working on UK HealthCare, Tempur-Sealy, and the University of Kentucky.

While she’s only been at the company for one month, account coordinator Audrey Moeglin is already considered a great asset to CORNETT’s Brand Management team. With her passion for work and keen eye for design, the agency is expecting her to bring something unique to the table. The recent University of Kentucky graduate is a marathon runner and has a small business where she designs custom-made greeting cards and paper goods for weddings and showers.
