Mother London has created a series of new idents for Halfords Autocentres as part of its renewed ‘Dedicated Motoring’ sponsorship strand on Dave and Dave Ja Vu.
Colin and Clive are auto fanatics, with a serious passion for engine noise and windscreen wipers. But unlike stereotypical mechanics, Colin and Clive are stand-up gents:
"A lot of people's experiences of garages are of dark, dirty places staffed by moody mechanics who make up prices and problems as they go,” said Mother Creative Director Tim McNaughton “We wanted to show Halfords as the opposite: open, approachable and expert. We did this with a glimpse into the working life of two of Halfords Autocentres' most passionate technicians: Colin and Clive"
Rory Carlin said: “We’ve had a fantastic response to the humour of our advertisements over the past few years. This exciting new creative will be onscreen for Dave viewers from April 2nd. Our sponsorship of Dave has really helped us drive awareness among our target market and contributed to our acquisition of new customers.”
Halfords Autocentres’ sponsorship of Dave - negotiated by SPP Ltd on behalf of Walker Media - includes up to 80 seconds of accreditation each hour of motoring programming on the channels, which includes sole sponsorship of Top Gear and all Top Gear specials, which regularly rate as the channels’ peak performing shows.
