Dorothee Schumacher’s new line for Farfetch shows off an elegant aesthetic with romantic shades of colour, featuring timeless feminine pieces pulled off with finesse. Graphic prints and tailored jackets are interspersed with casual wear, which provides the collection with a carefree attitude.
The video campaign, directed by Camille Summers-Valli, captures a group of friends abandoning work in favour of a spontaneous trip to the beach on a gloomy day. The protagonists make decisions based on the toss of a coin, and there is a jagged, disjointed rhythm to the editing as it chops between vignettes of their adventure.
For the soundtrack, DOLCE sourced ‘Girl of My Dreams’ by LA garage-pop band Earth Girl Helen Brown. The track, which goes through several diegetic transformations during the film, enhances the rebellious dynamic as a wild female vocal and flashes of spiky guitar reflect the contrasting moods represented on-screen.
