Luke Todd, Richard Coley, Danny Boyle and John-Paul Harney strengthen the studio’s flame, CG, motion design and animation departments

Independent visual content studio and Certified B Corporation, Coffee & TV, today announces the appointment of four new senior artists to strengthen the studio’s flame, CG, motion design and animation departments. The new hires will increase Coffee & TV’s capabilities and accommodate the growing demand for premium content from global brands, broadcasters and agencies.

Derek Moore, CEO and co-founder said: "Last March our main priority was to keep the team together during the pandemic. Fast forward a year, I’m thrilled that we have been able to do this and welcome these phenomenal new talents. Luke, Richard, John-Paul, and Danny are incredible assets to the company who will bring dynamic expertise and insights to complement the existing team. Remote working has fortuitously allowed us to expand our team without having to boost our studio square footage. Whilst we are looking forward to face to face collaboration in Soho after lockdown, we will continue with our established working solutions so we can further expand our talent pool and help more clients globally.”

Luke Todd is a highly respected visual effects artist with over twenty years experience. He has worked on an impressive portfolio of campaigns for international brands, including Nike’s infamous commercial, Nothing beats a Londoner, the iconic Phones are Good for mobile network Three and Dreammakers for Honda. At Coffee & TV Luke will take on the role of VFX supervisor, working alongside head of flame, Nick John and the studio’s team of creative directors. Before joining Coffee & TV, Luke was an integral part of award-winning teams and held senior positions at Time Based Arts, MPC, The Mill, ETC and Glassworks.

Richard Coley built his career at Framestore, where he worked for 14 years, most recently he was part of the team that helped to set up the Chicago studio. He has created imagery for a broad range of big brand advertising campaigns, including Lenovo's Good Weird and Coca Cola's Super Bowl ad, Polar Bowl. Richard also worked on Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows Part 1 and the multi-award winning animation series Tooned, commissioned by McLaren F1. At Coffee & TV, Richard will join as CG Supervisor, working with Creative Directors Martin Allan and Phil Hurrell to deliver ever-more breathtaking visual effects.

Danny Boyle is a gifted motion designer and animation director.  He set up his own design collective after graduating from Kingston University in illustration and animation. During this time he worked on campaigns for E4, Vodafone, Unilever, The Science Museum and he created the Emmy-nominated motion graphics for the show DaVinci’s Demons. Danny will join the studio’s roster of animation directors and the burgeoning motion graphics department as a Senior Artist.

John-Paul Harney will lead Coffee & TV’s specialist team of Houdini artists within the CG department. Known in the industry for his animation flare and complex understanding of Houdini software, John-Paul was nominated for an Emmy and a BAFTA award as Lead Visual Effects Artist on the BBC/HBO drama ‘Supervolcano.’ Before joining Coffee & TV, John-Paul worked for Mill Film, Envy, Rushes and he was Head of CG at Smoke & Mirrors (now Tag Collective Arts) for three years.

This latest news follows Coffee & TV’s recent announcement that the company has achieved Certified B Corporation status. The approval recognises Coffee & TV as the UK’s first B CorpTM visual content studio from the advertising, broadcast and production industry. Coffee & TV is now part of the global movement of over 3,700 Certified B Corporations from more than 150 industries in 74 countries, who are committed to using business as a force for good.
