Creative company Imaginary Forces (IF) partners with Cinemark to create a trailer to show why movies are made for the big screen.
Movies are storytelling at its most powerful, and most primal. Movies are all about entering worlds unimaginable and with this campaign for Cinemark XD, the goal was to create a visual that not only captivated the audience with dynamic landscapes, but put viewers in the movie theater seats themselves.
“The real competitor is the home screens and everything outside the theater, challenging how a movie can and should be watched. We are in the belief that cinema is worthy of getting out and actually seeing the movie in the theater. The other options are an injustice to the storytelling,” says creative director Alan Williams.
With the seat reclined, popcorn in hand, the curtain rises as viewers are transported deep into the world of storytelling without saying a single word. Scored to an orchestral tune-up that crescendos to a grand symphony, the audience is left on the edge of their seats ready to escape reality for the movie experience they came for. As they exit the fantastical world of cinematic storytelling, they’re reminded why movies are made for this.
