Christmas Brings Every Type of Family Together in Touching Kaufland Spot

With its Christmas spot this year, Kaufland is sending a clear message for more cohesion and togetherness in society. "We are currently going through times that repeatedly push us to our limits. But we believe in the good in people. In the fact that commonalities prevail. Christmas is the festival of peace and love and has always brought us together. With our film we want to show: If we talk to each other and stick together, we can overcome borders," explains Michael Lüttgen, managing director of Kaufland Marketing International. 

The spot tells the story of two families who are neighbours. One family is poor, the other rich. Because the father of the richer family wants to prevent contact between the children, he builds a fence. But this fence cannot prevent the children from becoming friends. They discover what they have in common and that they like each other. At the end of the commercial, the father also recognises this. 

The film was developed by the Kaufland Inhouse Agency for all countries where Kaufland is represented. It was shot in Bulgaria, near Sofia. "The message of our commercial applies internationally and is more topical than ever. The story could therefore be set anywhere," says Michael. The spot was directed by Thomas Garber and produced by TPF (Tony Petersen Film). The music is by German singer CATT.
