Continuing the growth of its long form TV drama arm, British VFX company Cherry Cherry has announced its involvement in the second series of BBC hit 'Trust Me'.

Working as the sole visual effects partner with production company RED Productions on this project, Cherry Cherry were asked on set to assist in a VFX supervisory role which saw creative director Hugo Saunders travel to Spain to help advise on specific shots and angles which would offer the best results from a VFX point of view.

The drama series begins with scenes set in Afghanistan and gives an immediate insight to the lead character’s background and inner demons that will be an ongoing presence throughout the series. Cherry Cherry were charged with bringing to life the wartime action, from bullet shots to wounding.

Back in the UK, and at the hospital which plays the fundamental role in the BBC drama, there was extra clean-up work and further visual effects which the team were more than happy lend their skills to.

CEO Gavin Hay, and the driving force behind Cherry Cherry’s development into TV Drama, was delighted at winning such a high profile prime time drama: “Having our wonderful team work on this TV drama series was a huge leap into a new realm for them, and to see them excel at every shot was a vindication of the work we have all been engaged in to spread into TV alongside our widely renowned reputation in TVCs.”

Trust Me was a very well received first series, with viewing figures reaching above 7 million and starring Jodie Whittaker. The second series, premiered in April 2019 and is now available on iPlayer, is highly anticipated and is sure to be another smash hit for RED Productions and the BBC.
