For the sixth consecutive year, Cheil Worldwide teams up with the Spikes Asia to run the Spikes Asia Creative Academy, an intensive three-day session designed to provide a unique learning opportunity for 15 students from across Asia Pacific. Selected young talents are gathering in Singapore to partake in an exclusive course designed to further improve their capabilities.
Aimed at growing young creatives, the Academy's programme is aimed at expanding the students’ knowledge for when they start a career in the industry. They will enjoy the unique learning opportunity by listening to and speaking with industry leaders; fine-tuning their creative skills; and networking with their future colleagues and competitors. Last year, for example, Keith Reinhard the advertising legend joined the Academy to share his experience and knowledge with the students.
Commenting on the Spikes Academy sponsorship, Daiki Lim, President and CEO of Cheil Worldwide, said, “Our industry is all about talents. As a market leader, we feel it is our obligation to support and grow young talents. Having sponsored the Creative Academy every year since its inception in 2009, it is our great pleasure to see some previous Academy participants now working as mature professionals in the region. We are confident that this year’s rich programme will also be a stepping stone for the 15 students from the region.”
“The lifeblood of the industry is young talent and the Spikes Asia Creative Academy is a unique learning platform for the region’s creative students to improve their knowledge and skills to help them in their future careers. We are proud that Cheil Worldwide is again our partner, bringing students into the very heart of the festival. Their enthusiasm and energy is infectious and we look forward to welcoming the class of 2014” says Steve Latham, Director of Talent and Training for Spikes Asia.
The students will be tutored by David Tan, a lecturer in Singapore Polytechnic Design School, Diploma in visual Communication and Media Design. David is well equipped with knowledge of various media channels in communication design, after over a decade of industry experiences ranging from advertising, branding, print and web.
