Carl Desir Joins R/GA as Diversity and Inclusion Director
R/GA welcomes Carl Desir as its new diversity & inclusion director. Carl joins R/GA from the 4A’s, where he led engagement in the areas of talent and education as the organisation's vice president of talent initiatives. In his previous role, Carl helped to build on the 4A’s position as an industry leader in the movement to advance Talent issues (Diversity & Inclusion, Training, Recruitment, Retention) within the advertising industry.

As R/GA’s first diversity & inclusion director, Carl will use this new role to build strategic partnerships with diverse organisations and programs that support emerging talent through scholarships and internships. Carl will use his deep industry experience to develop, implement, and oversee all diversity and inclusion practices within R/GA’s fast-paced, technologically-and creatively-driven environment.

Throughout his career Carl has participated in and/or led many diversity and talent programs, including Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP), 4A’s Foundation, ADCOLOR, T.O.R.C.H., Marcus Graham Project, JWT’s Differenter, AEF’s speaker program and The One Club Creative Boot Camp. In addition to continued advocacy for diversity, Carl enjoys running, photography, brewing beer, taekwondo, and spending time with his family.

“Carl’s depth of experience coupled with his passion for advancing diversity and uplifting talent make him the ideal person to drive the diversity & inclusion strategy for R/GA’s global offices,” said Richard Mellor, R/GA’s global chief human resources officer. He adds, “Carl will act as the bridge between R/GA’s business resource groups (BRG’s), HR Business Partners, and senior level management to foster a global community and accelerate inclusion through community events.”

Under Carl’s leadership, R/GA will continue to cultivate an ecosystem of respect, celebrate the tapestry of culture, and enrich diversity within the organisation.
