Carat USA Appoints New EVP, Managing Director

Carat USA has announced the appointment of Julie DeMaio as EVP, Managing Director. DeMaio joins Ed Gorman and Jan Weinstein, both EVP, Managing Directors, on the U.S. leadership team in New York. She will be responsible for overseeing the Danone, Diageo, Smucker’s, and Burberry business, and will manage 100 staff in the New York office.

Julie DeMaio is a former SVP, Managing Director, Media, at IPG’s BPN with over 17 years of media strategy and planning experience. At BPN, DeMaio was responsible for the strategic planning and buying for all New York clients in addition to securing new business and growing BPN’s current account portfolio. She also led the development of company mission, values, processes and product, along with the President and CEO. DeMaio has worked with major brands such as L’Oreal and Bacardi Global, with experience spanning CPG, liquor, retail, entertainment, and travel/tourism.
