Campbell Ewald Introduces New Chief Creative Officers Silmo Bonomi and Clarence Bradley

Campbell Ewald announces that Silmo Bonomi and Clarence Bradley have joined the agency as the new Chief Creative Officers. The team will oversee creative and production for all three offices: Detroit, Los Angeles and New York. Their arrival comes at a time when the agency is seeing growth across its health care, financial services and automotive base.

“We took the job because we believe in Campbell Ewald’s mission. This place has taken the time and costly measures to commit to doing the work it takes to create systemic change — not an easy task for an agency over 100 years old,” said Silmo Bonomi and Clarence Bradley, CCOs, Campbell Ewald. “In one of the most egocentric jobs you can have in this industry, our goal is to prove that we can do it together and build on each other's skills and leadership. People talk a lot about partnership, but just a few really want to share the spotlight.”

Bonomi, who was born and raised in Brazil, is a culture, craft, and coding fanatic. He sees himself as a creative nerd, lazy runner, sneakerhead enthusiast and meditation apprentice. Silmo spent the last 20 years in adland, most recently as ECD at VMLY&R in New York, where he led day-to-day strategy for a staff of global creators to drive brand awareness and performance. He directed creative transformation for New Balance and successfully led the team across campaigns for Miami Tourism GMCVB, SKYY Vodka - Campari, United Nation, AMC Networks and Colgate-Palmolive. With his creative work, he has achieved international creative recognition at Cannes Lions, D&AD, the One Show and the Effie Awards.

Clarence Bradley sees himself as a 'Hustler of Culture', a lyric borrowed from Chuck D of Public Enemy. Though his work can be found in international award show annuals, he's most proud of being able to help young people break in and excel in advertising. A graduate of Clark Atlanta University and Miami Ad School, his career has spanned the globe, working for agencies and clients that include Wieden+Kennedy London, Apple/EMEA, BBDO New York, The Martin Agency, Fallon, Creature of London, McCann New York, and VaynerMedia. Clarence is obsessed with creating ideas that underpin the basics of how brands tell lasting, effective stories. He’s spent the last 20-plus years working closely with brands to help grow and evolve their voice to not only stay relevant with culture but become authentic amplifiers.

“We were not initially looking for two CCOs, but along our journey, we met both Clarence and Silmo. They didn’t know each other, but they shared a vision for building a strong culture at the agency and for creating impactful and relevant work for clients. Pair that with their complementary skills sets, and we got a duo that’ll positively shape the face of Campbell Ewald and our clients for years to come,” said Kevin Wertz, CEO of Campbell Ewald.
