Cactus Appointed AOR for Washington County Tourism
Advertising agency Cactus has signed Washington County Tourism as a national client, Cactus Partner/CCO Norm Shearer announced today. The county-wide travel destination is home to world-renowned Zion National Park, the city of St. George and surrounding municipalities, four state parks, and a multitude of year-round adventure offerings, set amidst red rock of the Desert Southwest.

“This was a great win for us,” Norm said. “It’s a prime and growing destination client for us on a National scale in our Tourism and Travel category.”

Cactus, which partnered with Colorado-based Malen Yantis Public Relations for the RFP submission and in-person pitch late last year, will develop and execute a one-year year marketing plan along with all media, digital, strategy, creative and production for Washington County Tourism. The first quarter of 2019 will be dedicated to brand development and marketing planning. The new creative is expected to launch in Q2.

“The team of Cactus clearly demonstrated the best understanding of who we are and what we hope to accomplish by working with an agency,” said Kevin Lewis, Director of Tourism for Washington County, Utah. “Their proposal and presentation were well thought out, with impressive insights, creative concepts, research, strategy and a demonstration of overall capabilities. But perhaps the most telling factor was their ability to identify specifically with our unique challenges and opportunities.”

Washington County Tourism’s account is valued at $1.75 million annually and previous advertising was done in house.
