BVE, the UK’s largest event for the entertainment, media, and creative industries, has announced a partnership with Cannes Lions for the 2018 edition of the exhibition. The collaboration marks the first time that the two events have shared a platform to connect with their common audience of creative, production, brand and advertising professionals in the media and communications sectors.
The partnership will see Cannes Lions host two seminars on the Storytellers Stage, home to some of the event’s leading keynote speakers. The Cannes Lions Curated sessions will showcase some of the best examples of how brands are bringing creativity to the storytelling process, the first of which will see Olivier Robert Murphy, Global Head of New Business at Universal Music speak about how their brands are creating high quality content to engage with their global audiences.
Visitors to BVE will also be able to drop into the Cannes Lions Creative Clinic, an interactive installation on the exhibition floor, where the Cannes Lions Awards team will offer feedback on any campaigns or ideas that conference delegates are currently working on.
Fiorenza Plinio, Head of Development, Cannes Lions will also speak at The Great Content Revolution, the collocated conference focussing on branded content, hosted by the BCMA. Her workshop will explore the evolution of the creative process and how brands are harnessing new ideas to engage with audiences in meaningful and innovative ways.
Daniel Sacchelli, BVE Event Manager, said: “As the media and entertainment sector continues to evolve, there is an increasing convergence of people that attend and are interested in BVE and Cannes Lions. Creative agencies are seeking ever higher production values, while it’s becoming the norm for established content producers to work with brands directly.”
“The presence of Cannes Lions at BVE 2018 demonstrates that, regardless of job role, we are all creators. Creative storytelling and cutting-edge production both depend on each other to truly engage audiences, and this year’s exhibition will help professionals from across the industry come together, share ideas and learn from each other.”
Louise Benson, Executive Festival Director, Lions Health, Lions Innovation, Lions Entertainment commenting on the partnership said, “We’re excited to partner with BVE this year and share some expertise from the Cannes Lions community with the BVE audience. There are a lot of synergies between these two events and this partnership marks the first of what we hope will be the first of many opportunities to collaborate and share learnings for the benefit of the creative industry.”
Taking place between February 27th and March 1st, BVE will welcome more than 15,000 professionals of all types from the media, entertainment and creative industries to ExCeL London. Visitors will explore and experience the future of the content creation, commercial innovation and cutting edge technology.
At the heart of the event will be six theatres dedicated to different areas of content and video production: The Storytellers Stage, The Business of Production, Craft of Capture, Techflow Futures, Post in Practice, and Connected Media. Each theatre’s programme has been specifically selected to appeal to the diverse interests of the visitors attending the event.
