Independent creative agency, Brothers and Sisters, has boosted its strategic planning line-up with the appointment of Ila De Mello Kamath, reporting to Phil Teer, Chief Strategy Officer. Ila joins Brothers and Sisters in the new role of Head of Planning, from Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO where she was Board Strategy Director.
Phil Teer, Chief Strategy Officer, at Brothers and Sisters comments, “Ila brings immense strategic firepower and creative instinct, and we can’t wait to get started”. Phil, who joined the agency in October 2009, after 14 years at St Luke’s, was initially solely responsible for strategic development across Brothers and Sisters’ client base; now oversees a department of six planners.

During her eight years at AMV BBDO, Ila was responsible for running the Martini and Sapphire accounts globally; Ice, a UK environmental reward scheme; and previously the Mars Petcare business across Europe. She received three prestigious IPA awards for The Metropolitan Police “Who Killed Deon” campaign: IPA Effectiveness Gold, IPA Best Demonstration of Consumer Participation and IPA Best Learning. The NHSBT Organ Donation campaign won a Marketing Society Gold, IPA Effectiveness and APG accolades.
Creative awards won included Whiskas, Pedigree, The Metropolitan Police and Guinness brands.
With over 17 years’ experience as an agency-side planner, Ila also worked at The Good Agency, as head of planning and MCBD as a senior planner; and was a graduate trainee at Saatchi & Saatchi.
