“I’ve always been fascinated with bodies in motion, unexpected rhythms, and building emotional connections through my work,” says Astor. “I love weaving multiple layers together and really pushing the interplay of sound and picture. I’m excited to continue this exploration at Northern Lights."
Born and raised in NYC, Brett landed at Fischer Edit in Minneapolis after relocating to the Twin Cities with a BA from Hampshire College. Pulling from her modern dance and eclectic music background, Brett developed a kinetic editorial style that combines energy, movement, and magic. During her 20+ year career Astor has cut Super Bowl spots for Target, and has won multiple Clio Awards for her Gap and Kohl’s work. She also won AICE’s Best of Minneapolis Award for her Gap “Holiday” spot and AICE’s Best of Minnesota Award for her BOOMCHICKAPOP “Crush it” work. Brett’s work is featured on Free the Bid, an organisation that champions the perspective and inclusion of female Directors, Editors, Colourists, Composers and DOPs in advertising.
Northern Lights EP Robin Hall notes, “I’m excited to be working with Brett. She brings a unique point of view to the editorial process, and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.”
Brett continues to be available for Minneapolis-based projects at Channel Z and is now available for East and West coast assignments through Northern Lightsview more - Hires, Wins & BusinessBodega, Thu, 01 Nov 2018 18:24:14 GMT
