Brands Choose Cuesongs Pre-Licensed Music

Marriott International, Lenovo, Volkswagen China among the many

An ever-increasing number of brands are using the CueSongs pre-licensed music service for their marketing and corporate communications collateral.

Brands such as Marriott International in Europe, Volkswagen China, Lenovo, and Bowers and Wilkins, have all discovered the one-stop music licensing hub for online and digital media usage, using it to source pre-licensed music for their marketing needs, either via an agency or directly.

Having previously used music libraries, Marriott International chose the CueSongs platform because it offers an easy way to find well-known music recordings and immediately purchase the right to use them in digital media.

The hotels group licensed a well known track from CueSongs for use in their European Division’s Corporate Communications/PR video shown to external business partners and internal staff at the Europe General Manager’s session at their global GM’s conference in Los Angeles, USA. The video illustrates through PR/ media endorsements how Marriott international in Europe has expanded their footprint in Europe, launched four new brands and opened numerous new hotels across their portfolio of brands.

Belinda Pote, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at Marriott International, Europe, explains, “CueSongs enables companies to easily select and gain approval to use dynamic and relevant music tracks for all marketing and corporate communication needs which has previously been both challenging and time-consuming through music libraries.”

She adds, “CueSongs are in the business of music and have the expertise to respond quickly and effectively to client requests.”

International marketing agencies are also finding the CueSongs service valuable with Chinese production agency Gwantsi successfully licensing music and recordings for various online and digital marketing activities for Volkswagen China and Lenovo.

CueSongs, which launched in beta in January 2012, is co-founded by Ed Averdieck, formerly head of Nokia Music and OD2, and music pioneer Peter Gabriel.

Ed Averdieck says: “Marriott International is one of the first major commercial users of CueSongs and the video project clearly demonstrates how the song search and licensing service pre-clears tracks by very well known artists easily and quickly for use in digital media.”

“Our beta programme launched in January is going extremely well and we are currently in negotiation with a number of companies, both large and small, looking to licence music and recordings from the catalogues of both signed and independent musicians in a one-off transaction”, he continues.
