Brain Food: 6 Pieces of Creativity to Get You Ready for Some Lurvin'

Valentine’s special featuring 50 Shades, IKEA cards, horny animals, broody oreos and Barack Obama

Brain Food: 6 Pieces of Creativity to Get You Ready for Some Lurvin'

It’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow and whether you’re feeling hot or not, we reckon this sweet lovin’-filled Brain Food will set you up for a fruitful weekend ahead. Steve Buscemi hijacks 50 Shades in our favourite trailer parody yet, IKEA’s LÜVKARDs are sexying up furniture, rabbits and pals are at it like, well, rabbits in a cheeky short from Rushes and there’s a bonus BuzzFeed spot featuring Barack Obama. LBB’s Addison Capper reveals all.

1. 50 Shades of Buscemi

Steve Buscemi is so amazingly badass and ridiculous all at the same time. And that’s why this is my favourite 50 Shades trailer parody. It was created by Boo Ya Pictures.

NB: Also check out the Lego version. No big event is complete without a Lego re-creation these days, right?

2. IKEA’s Valentine’s LÜV

Cuddle up with your STENKLÖVER this Valentine’s with an amusing IKEA Valentine’s ‘LÜVKARD’. They were created by Isobar London and playfully put a spin on various IKEA product ranges. Read more here

3. Let’s Get It On

London-based post production company Rushes is getting in the mood for luuurve with this delightfully dirty short.

4. Kiss Awkward Goodbye

Grey London teamed with illustrator Dave Anderson at Blood Sausage to launch these quick-witted Valentine’s cards to ‘kiss awkward goodbye’. The cards were created for the charity Scope and follow research that reveals only 5 per cent of people who aren’t disabled have ever asked out, or been on a date with, a disabled person.

5. Red Velvet Oreo

Oreo is getting fans all broody this Valentine’s with the release of a red velvet flavoured biscuit. The brand enlisted 360i and Shadowmachine to produce these awkwardly romantic shorts to promote them.

6. Things Everybody Does But Doesn’t Talk About

This isn’t strictly Valentine’s related, but it is kind of awesome and fun nonetheless. President Barack Obama teamed up with BuzzFeed Motion Pictures to create this video that highlights the upcoming healthcare coverage deadline to notoriously tricky-to-reach youths. The film explains to viewers that Obama is really a normal guy like the rest of us, while slipping in a sly message about healthcare coverage as he practices a speech in a (very dirty) mirror.
