BMW UK will be partnering with Sky Arts 1 and 2 in a year-long partnership commencing immediately. BMW will have exclusive exposure across Sky Art’s award-winning content on both channels as well as online, mobile and experiential touch-points – the first time this has happened. Sky is the only broadcaster in the UK and Ireland with channels dedicated solely to the arts.
The partnership was put together by Sky Media, the advertising sales arm of Sky and Amplifi, the media investment division of innovative media agency, Vizeum.
As part of the partnership, BMW has created a series of idents featuring the new 4 Series range, which comprises the Coupé, Convertible and Gran Coupé. Working with three exciting collaborators from across the art world, namely Bison, Lightning & Kinglyface and Alistair McClymont, the idents highlight the unique design cues in the 4 Series while showcasing its design, firmly rooted in its performance.
The strong design philosophy of the BMW 4 Series complements the Sky Arts’ ethos of supporting the arts and creative world, making it the perfect synergy to demonstrate the artistic expression of the 4 Series range.
Uwe Dreher, BMW UK Marketing Director, commented: “BMW has a long history of engaging in cultural activities and is a proud supporter of the arts, as ably demonstrated by the iconic BMW Art Car collection featuring works by Alex Calder, Roy Lichtenstein and Jeff Koons. BMW’s focus on design complements everything that Sky Arts embodies, making the 4 Series a natural fit for this partnership. “
Philip Edgar-Jones, Director, Sky Arts commented: “We are delighted that BMW are partnering with Sky Arts . As a company with an impressive track record in supporting the arts they are the perfect partner as we enter the next stage of growth on the channel. Together we will celebrate the very best that arts in the UK and Ireland have to offer."
Farhann Cachra, Account Director, Vizeum commented: “The new BMW 4 Series is a symbol of beauty and emotive design that speaks to the most discerning of drivers. This unique partnership with Sky Arts affords us a consistent and timely encounter to speak to a cultured audience and help build familiarity of a stunning new creation in the BMW range.”
