TEDxSydney has become the leading platform and pipeline for the propagation of Australian ideas, creativity, innovation and culture to the rest of the world. The event, which took place on Friday at the ICC Sydney, blended talks, performances and specially produced films.
Under the theme, "Unconventional", TEDxSydney commissioned creative agency BMF to produce a film for its 2017 film program. BMF chose animation and humor to portray an unconventional love story: the story of two Tetris blocks that fall deeply in love, but find they have a problem. And it's quite a big one.
WATCH THE FILM

Says Cam Blackley, ECD, BMF: "BMF and its partners are incredibly proud to have our labour of love received with plenty of laughter and the odd snigger at the world's most inspiring conference."
Says "Ménage à Tetris" director Emile Rademeyer: "We wanted to take the viewer on the emotional

rollercoaster the Tetris characters were experiencing in their relationship. From the initial flirtation to that unforeseeable moment in a relationship when a couple realises that not all is well in paradise.
"Stylistically the Vandal designers developed a contemporary digital grunge look for the film. This allowed them to put a unique spin on a classic 8bit retro look."
Many of the films experiment with techniques such as stop motion animation, live action illustration and photographic collage. The full TEDxSydney short film program can be viewed here:
