Since joining BMB in 2019 as head of strategy, Mel has been a key part of the leadership team

Creative agency BMB has promoted Mel Arrow as its new chief strategy officer (CSO), following a return to the agency after maternity leave.

Since joining BMB in 2019 as head of strategy, Mel has been a key part of the leadership team who have developed a new agency proposition and attracted clients like Nike, Farrow & Ball, Innocent, La Familglia Rana, Breast Cancer Now, Gymbox and Rude Health. As CSO, she will continue to push the strategy agenda for the agency, whilst bringing new and diverse planning talent into the business. Her promotion recognises her contribution to the recent success and growth of the agency.

Jason Cobbold, CEO of BMB comments, “Mel is an exceptional talent. She’s made a fundamental contribution to our journey at BMB and continues to push the agenda with her unique combination of sharp thinking, creative drive and ‘Mel Gusto’.  She has had an amazing impact on the agency – and this promotion is thoroughly deserved.”

Mel Arrow, chief strategy officer of BMB adds, “BMB has a history of making insightful, populist work and a culture of being both smart and wonderfully weird. I’m proud to have helped that spirit make a resurgence and hope to continue playing a role in the agency’s growth and momentum as CSO.”

Mel is an award-winning strategist, Cannes Lion speaker and former WACL Future Leader Award winner. Prior to joining BMB, Mel was group strategy director and partner at BBH London, leading the global Absolut account. Prior to this she led strategy on British Airways as well as Nike and Google projects. She started at BBH as a graduate trainee in 2010.

David Bain, founding strategy partner, continues his role as chair of BMB.
