Blueprint for Sustainable and Innovative Experiential Design Opens in London

The London Hub was created for the Verizon Business by Momentum Worldwide and award-winning designer Tom Robinson

The London Hub has opened that is set to be a blueprint for how sustainability and innovative design can work for businesses. Created for the Verizon Business by Momentum Worldwide and award-winning designer Tom Robinson, the permanent sustainable London Hub embedded circular economy principles built the immersive environment.

Verizon Business briefed Momentum Worldwide’s UK team to design an immersive experience for their customers while ensuring sustainability was integrated into the build and approach from the start. Momentum created a technology innovation centre called the ‘London Hub’ with circular design thinking and considerations for social and environmental impact woven into everything. Working with local award-winning London artist Tom Robinson, who built the Nucleus Table in the main meeting room from discarded e-waste. As a result, 334kg of plastic pollution was diverted from landfill.

100% of the assets that were left from the previous Innovation Centre and were not used in the new Centre were donated to local charities. We also created a Sustainability Impact Report which was produced using innovative materials, including a cover woven from 100%-recycled ocean plastic, coated with water-based acrylic and the contents printed using specialist paper which contains upcycled coffee cups and post-consumer waste. The printing process was zero-waste throughout and produced by Calverts, a co-operative business jointly owned by employees and ran to the certified standards of ISO 1400.
