BLOK Brings Wellness to the Arts Industry with Free Online Classes

BLOK and Pitch & Sync launch its social media campaign #MoveForTheArts

Fitness brand BLOK is proud to announce it will be offering 5,000 free memberships to BLOKtv - its online wellbeing and fitness platform, to people in arts, culture and the creative industries who have found themselves out of work due to the covid-19 pandemic. 

From today the new offer will be promoted through #MoveForTheArts a social media campaign devised in collaboration with Pitch & Sync

​Like many, BLOK has seen the serious impact of covid on the arts. Until venues can reopen, laid-off performers, artists, crew and creative thinkers are facing an uncertain future. BLOK wants to provide support by giving free access to its digital platform. While it doesn’t come close to solving the problem, BLOK hopes the offer will help people keep moving and maintain wellbeing throughout the pandemic.  

To spread the word BLOK partnered with music and culture agency Pitch & Sync, to create a social media campaign led by a short film highlighting the issue. This shows a variety of performers and artists who filmed themselves rehearsing and performing while trapped at home. It will be distributed across BLOK’s channels and by the fitness brand’s many friends and performing and creative arts contacts. The campaign goes under the hashtag #MoveForTheArts, and a dedicated website for applications has been created at www.moveforthearts.com 

“We know a lot of people personally who’ve lost their income thanks to venues closing and gigs being cancelled,” explains Pitch and Sync Creative Director Frank Broughton. “By creating this campaign with BLOK we can make a real difference for a lot of people. BLOK has been our client for music for a while and when we suggested reaching out they were keen to help.”

Launched in May 2020 BLOKtv houses 200+ on demand videos, with new content released weekly, in addition to ten live classes every week day, and an additional ten each weekend. 

Combining classes from different disciplines and offering wellbeing content suitable for beginners to performing artists BLOK takes a sustainable approach to fitness and believes that there is no better time than at the start of the second lockdown to offer its digital platform to creatives in need of a wellbeing lifeline.
