BIRTH UK Signs Director Augusto Giménez Zapiola

BIRTH UK has signed Augusto Giménez Zapiola, one of the most awarded commercials directors in the world. During his career, Augusto has acted, directed and produced, and is the founder of Argentinacine, a leading Argentinian production company. As a director, he has won awards in national and international advertising festivals including Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, LIA, The One Show, D&AD and EL Sol among many others.

Augusto is particularly noted as a dialogue-driven comedy director whose films affectionately affirm the absurdities of life. His latest comic spot The Community, shot for Rosa Paris through BIRTH, showcases Augusto’s brilliant use of humour while also seeding a serious message for eco brand Greenweez.

Augusto is a graduate of the Institute of Cinematographic Arts in Buenos Aires where he picked up the advertising bug after studying theatre acting and directing.

The multi-award winning director signed with BIRTH France in 2021 and is now looking forward to joining BIRTH UK: “I’m delighted to extend my relationship with Birth into the UK. I greatly admire British storytelling with its celebrated humour and intelligence, so can’t wait to start filming there," he says.
