Creative agency 383 has appointed a raft of new hires from agencies including McCann Birmingham, Cogent Elliott and Kindred, following a period of exceptional revenue growth over the past two years.
The agency has grown its workforce by 83% over the past three years, as well as achieving 81% revenue growth since 2010. This has resulted in the creation of four new roles to service a series of new business wins, strengthening credentials in social media and mobile.
The appointments include Abhi Punj from Kindred, who worked on award-winning social media campaign ‘make mine Milk’, joining as 383's Head of Social Media; Ricardo Williams, from McCann Birmingham, who will head up mobile across accounts including Birmingham Metropolitan College; Jo Harvey, previously at Cogent Elliott, joining as Marketing Manager, and Julie Edge, who joins from BigCat Birmingham as Traffic Manager.
The expansion follows a series of new business wins for the Birmingham-based agency, including accounts with retail investor Hammerson and its nine shopping centres across the UK, as well as Birmingham Metropolitan College and sports and fitness device manufacturer Polar. Existing clients include Chevrolet, Mecca Bingo, Free Radio, and Chivas.
As well as growing its team, the agency, founded in 2006, has also added a new breakout studio to its offices, and has recently launched a revamped website at 383project.com.
Sukhi Dehal, Director and Co-founder of 383, says: “These new appointments mean we are able to continue with the agency’s consistently high level of output, while maintaining quality. It also keeps us on track for this year’s target of a 40% increase on last year’s turnover. Abhi, Ricardo, Jo and Julie’s CVs are testament to their talent – we’re pleased to welcome a triple-award-winning social media expert and mobile specialist, as well as adding to our marketing and client services teams.”
383 was founded six years ago by Dehal and Creative Director John Newbold. The agency has worked with brands including BBC, Channel 4, Sony, Coca-Cola, Sprite and has received recognition from FRESH, DADI (Drum Awards for the Digital Industry) and RAR (recommended agency register) for its innovative output. Most recent accolades include two silver awards and one bronze from the 2012 FRESH Awards, for e-Targeting & Marketing, Social Networking and Digital Portfolio of the year. The agency, shortlisted for a BIMA 2012 award, is also most nominated agency for the Social Buzz Awards happening later this year.
