In partnership with the Reeperbahn Festival and its 700+ events, concerts and sessions covering music, fine art, film and literature, binge.watch will welcome creatives, producers and technologists from all over the world to gather in Hamburg in September to discuss VR and the creative state of our industry.
To help launch binge.watch, Southpaw has been appointed creative partner to establish a launch strategy, brand identity and future vision for the event through our new incubator platform, Southpaw Hatch.
The agency has created this platform to help launch innovation products and services that challenge the status quo using their challenger mind set and entrepreneurial spirit.
As well as celebrating great work and hearing from inspirational speakers, binge.watch will also host an awards ceremony highlighting the best VR work of this year, with an international jury awarding the best entries across seven categories.
Tom Poynter, Group Managing Director at Southpaw, said: “We’re now starting to get beyond the hype of people just donning a headset and behaving like a Meerkat on speed. As consumers, we are constantly raising the creative bar with what we expect to see from brands in order to transact with them. Southpaw is delighted to be the creative partner that will be driving the binge.watch brand forward and creating the conditions for originality in VR.”
Per Sascha Zech, Co-Founder of binge.watch, said: “With enabling technologies pushing into the consumer market, the creativity and quality of immersive experiences will be key in developing both virtual and mixed reality into the next big entertainment industry that everyone is hoping it can be. binge.watch will be the leading platform for creatives, producers, marketeers and technologists to meet, discuss and push the creative state of the VR industry. We are excited to have Southpaw and its outstanding team of creatives and strategists by our side to help us turn the vision for our emerging brand into reality.”
