BIMA Announces 2021 Winners of BIMA 10

BIMA (the British Interactive Media Association) has been holding an annual award ceremony celebrating the best in British tech and digital innovation since the mid-1980s. This year, however, marked the biggest change in the awards’ history with a stripped back process and one simple goal: to find the ten best digital-first projects that define what exceptional looks like in 2021.

BIMA MD Matt Sullivan said: “We asked for bold, brave, breakthrough projects that brought real change, delivered with impact. We expected brilliance, but I’m not sure even we expected such an overwhelmingly high calibre of entries.

“Through their digital-first work, our members have changed lives. In some cases they’ve saved lives. And the technical and creative skill on display has been genuinely inspiring. We launched BIMA10 to be the standard bearer for the very best in UK digital. On this evidence, it’s unquestionably mission accomplished.”

These are the projects with the power to shape the UK digital industry and inspire a generation of digital professionals. BIMA has just announced the ten change-making winners:

• Deloitte Digital’s COVID-19 National Testing Programme mobile app for NHS Digital changed how the UK interacts with its health service
• Make it Donate’s automated giving platform changed fundraising
• Fictioneers (comprising Potato, Sugar Creative and Tiny Rebel Games) developed the Wallace & Gromit-inspired The Big Fix Up for UK Research and Innovation, changing the nature of immersive storytelling and interactive experiences
• Supercharge and Zenobe enabled the green revolution in the UK through smart charging and helped change driving forever
•  Manifesto changed digital’s impact on the environment with a sustainable web build for The Climate Group
•  Daydream Believers changed education by bringing real world challenges into classrooms
• Engine developed an integrated immigration and asylum appeals system for HM Courts & Tribunals Service that changed the way asylum seekers access justic
• MBAStack’s #HiddenAbuse campaign for Solace Women’s Aid shone a light on the lives of women who face domestic abuse
• Foolproof & One Shot Immersive’s VR mass casualty training experience changed medical training for conflicts and disasters
• Engine’s Long Live The Prince project for The Kiyan Prince Foundation changed how we engage young people on social issues and knife crime in particular
