For all of us at Big Sync Music, 2015 has been a very big year. From announcing a global partnership with Unilever to working on more than 1,000 advertising campaigns and winning a bronze LIA for Samsung Gear Circle, we have been busy on a world wide scale.
In January Big Sync was appointed by Unilever, the world’s second largest advertiser, as the single supplier for its music services across all of its brands in all territories. The global partnership marked the beginning of Unilever’s fresh strategic approach to music in all of its advertising. We now work with Unilever brands worldwide and their agency partners, providing music strategy, licensing, creative music search and amplification for use in all of the company’s cross channel advertising activities, worldwide. Press coverage about the partnership ranged from Music Week to The Drum.
In May we opened up an office in Singapore to join our other offices in London and New York. From these three creative hubs, clients such as Axe, Dove, Lipton, Persil, SNOG, RyanAir, Unicef, Pot Noodle, Cornetto, Magnum and Asda have all benefitted from our global resource of musical knowledge and talent as well as Big Sync's buying power.
In June, Magnum’s Be True to Your Pleasure film by LOLA Madrid, which featured Mechanical Bride’s haunting version of ‘Umbrella’, licensed by Big Sync, won a Gold Lion at Cannes.
During the year Big Sync was short listed for several industry awards in sync categories from the Shots Awards for Magnum ‘Umbrella’ to the Music Week Sync Awards for LYNX ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. Last month we won our very first award - a bronze LIA (London International Award) for use of licensed music for Samsung Gear Circle which featured ‘I’m on My Way’ by legendary ‘60s gospel singer Barbara Dane.
I'm really proud of our creative team at Big Sync Music and just how far we’ve come in one year. We’ve licensed some of the biggest names in music and provided music solutions for over 400 brands in over 100 countries. We can’t wait to announce what we have in store for 2016 but I can say there’s some fabulous creative work in the pipeline. We want to wish all our agency friends and colleagues a Happy New Year! See you in 2016.
