The BETC Start Up Lab partners the Challenge and has created the brand, the signature and the storytelling of the competition. Further on, the Start UpLab will be mentoring the 25 selected teams and Stéphane Xiberras, CCO of BETCParis will be part of the jury in April next year.
The BETC Start Up Lab was founded in early 2012 as a reaction to the fast paced changes and the digital revolution in the advertising industry over the past years.
The Lab is managed by a small, dedicated team and works as a commando unit within BETC, exclusively dedicated to start ups. Rather than being an incubator, the Lab steps in as an accelerator for already developed and tested ideas at the moment when it's most valuable and impactful. Adapting to the individual startups, the work process is short, collaborative and agile both in terms of creativity and financing to allow young entrepreneurs to get access to some of the best storytellers and brand builders.
The BETC Start Up Lab has a solid role in the French start up ecosystem, working with incubators like Le Camping, eco system accelerators such as The Family and Silicon Sentier and VC's like Chausson Finance and Alven.
The Lab works with a wide range of start-ups representing a variety of fields (banking, retail, food, music, education..). What they have in common is that they're all acting at the very forefront of their respective industries through inventive approaches and creative solutions.
“The Start UpLab is a win-win situation where start ups gets access to the talent at BETC,at the same time as we get to improve our own skills, become more agile, get a glimpse of the future of the industry and be part of designing it.” – Clarisse Lacarrau, Founder of the Start UpLab and Associate Planning Director BETC.
Recent start ups helped by the BETC Start Up Lab include the crowd funding site Hello Merci, the e-learning platform Open Classroom and Restopolitan, a membership card for restaurant lovers.
