BETC Promotes Olivier Aumard and Nicolas Lautier to Executive Creative Directors

Olivier Aumard and Nicolas Lautier are promoted executive creative directors at BETC.

Both arrived in 2016, creative directors Olivier Aumard and Nicolas Lautier are elevated to the position of executive creative director. They would both work under Stephane Xiberras, president and chief creative officer of BETC France.

The mission of Olivier and Nicolas will be to keep helping the agency shine creatively and develop new talents in an increasingly mutating market. Within their accounts and through their own creative sensibilities, they will pursue new creative formats and add entertainment to their creations.

With these nominations, Olivier and Nicolas join the limited group of executive creative directors at BETC, while the agency strives to grow its talents within its ranks and pursue creative excellence with a French touch. In 2021, BETC was named as the 4th most creative agency in the world in the WARC rankings.

After an undergrad degree at Sorbonne and a masters degree at Science-Po Lille, Olivier started his creative career at lachose in 2008. He then moved to Buenos Aires at Madre (Mother Advertising Group) for three years. On his return to France, he landed at Fred&Farid, where he stayed for two years, before becoming a television writer at Sovage production company, where he had the chance of writing for the popular TV Show, Le Grand Journal.

During his last five years at BETC, Olivier worked many different accounts, first as copywriter, then creative director, especially on Bouygues Telecom and Lacoste. He won a Film Grand Prix in 2021 (among many other accolades) for Lacoste.

In the span of his career, Olivier won more than 200 international awards, including Grand Prix (Cannes Lions, LIA Awards, Eurobest), and 23 Lions at Cannes, 16 Pencils at the D&AD Awards, or 19 Clio Awards. In 2020, Olivier was named Copywriter of the Year at the French Art Directors Club. And in 2021, he was named by Adweek among the Creative 100.

Nicolas started his career in 2006 at Fred&Farid as copywriter. After three years working on accounts such as Diesel, Wrangler, Orangina or adidas Originals. Nicolas joined Ogilvy Paris under the creative direction of Chris Garbutt.

During seven years at Ogilvy, he worked on French and international brands such as Perrier, Coca-Cola, Scrabble, Ford, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Allianz, Tic-Tac and Netflix. During this period, he was named in 2013 Best Creative Under 30 in the World by Young Guns. The following year, Ogilvy was the Agency of the Year at the D&AD Awards.

After being raised to the position of Creative Director at Ogilvy, on the Netflix and Coca-Cola accounts Nicolas joined BETC in 2016 as Creative Director, where he worked on brands such as Decathlon, Citroën and CANAL+.

In the span of his career, Nicolas won more than 200 awards, including 25 Cannes Lions, 5 D&AD Awards, and eight LIA Awards.
