BETC and Ibis launch the Sleep Art app – an innovative digital experience that transforms sleep patterns into works of art. The Sleep Art App follows the successful Ibis Sleep Art Project that was launched in October last year and featured a robot and 80 sensors that interpreted Ibis customers’ sleep on canvas in real time. The unprecedented digital operation ran for a three-month period in four European capitals - Paris, Berlin, London and Warsaw.
The idea behind the app is to bring the Sleep Art experience to everyone – not just for people staying in the Ibis hotels.
Every morning, the application developed by BETC Paris and ACNE Production, allows the users to see their sleep transformed into an original, digital work of art. With the Sleep Art App, the iPhone becomes a sensor that captures movements and sounds. The data is converted into a virtual work of art as the user sleep.
How does the sleep art app work?
The app is extremely simple to use. After downloading it for free, the user sets the alarm clock and places the phone on the mattress. The app runs all through the night. The sleeper is woken by Sleep Art’s gentle music and discovers hers or his personal work of art. Users can follow the progress of how the painting took form, minute by minute on the screen. Every night is different.
These virtual works of art are stored in the gallery and users can compare each night’s sleep and share results of this unique digital experience via email or on Facebook.
The app is compatible with new generation iPhones and the iOS 5 and 6 operating systems. It is available for free download from the Apple Store.
