It’s hard to truly comprehend the monumental changes that have shaken us all over these past few months. It’s not an understatement to say it has been one of the most challenging times in our history. The global pandemic continues to disrupt our lives, our health, culture, communities and businesses. The shocking death of George Floyd and too many others shines new light on the urgent necessity to end systematic racism in our country and abroad. Reform is mandatory, palpable and our collective responsibility.
Here at Believe, we have dug deep, persevered with ambition, creativity and hope for a brighter future; all this amidst the sudden and devastating loss of Believe’s founding partner Luke Thornton. In keeping with Luke’s ceaselessly energetic and optimistic fervor for life, Believe has endeavored to look ever upward. We continue to work with industry leaders, our sales reps and agency partners to cultivate new protocols for moving forward.
It’s Luke’s birthday today and we miss him more than we can adequately express here. We hope he would be proud of all we’ve been able to accomplish, even in this trying period. We’ve successfully shot with Bruno Aveillan in Paris and completed a remote project directed by Jake Nava in South Africa. We’re shooting in LA next week and are now preparing to embark on another project in Mallorca. All of this done while holding fast to the tenets of family, originality and excellence that Luke and I worked to instill in the DNA of our company.
In each case, safety and responsibility have been paramount and we want to assure you all that we stand together in strength and unity as we move forward in these unthinkable times. Logistics, creative solutions and accountability have always been our mission and none more so than today. And so in our 20th year, our family is stronger than ever through adversity.
So, we wish Luke a Happy Birthday and pay him tribute in the work we continue to do. Just as he has had his hand in all we’ve ever done, he continues to inform every project we undertake now and forever. We send you all our love as we move through these tough times. It’s so important to know that we have each other’s support.
With love from Liz and the Believe Family,
