“First got into music when I was nine years old. Listening to back in the day. We had like, CD’s. I don’t know if anybody remembers those. You had CD’s and with CD’s was lyrics like, you had the books, and the books had lyrics in the back at the C D’s. And I remember reading a Nas book from this album he had called “I Am” and the lyric was, that I listened to at that time, was I’d be like nine to 10, it said “Freedom or jail, clip’s inserted, a baby’s being born same time a man is murdered, the beginning” 

And that kind of struck with me in the way where like you know, I was 10 but I kind of, it opened my eyes to what reality is, and that kind of intrigued me to want to be a rapper. It was just so honest and so cool. I just felt it was cool. 

Q> Who do you love listening to as a fan?

Tyrone> Nas is first, Jay- Z, Eminem, Flo Rida, B.o.B, the list goes on and on. Anybody I can listen with some lyrical capability, but also can create something that is fun, you know?

Q> What’s your nickname for your friends and family?

Tyrone> Tyrone!?, Rally, Big Nose, Noses Malone. Yeah, that’s it. Yeah, that’s about it. Anything with a big nose! “Nosetradamus”…hahaha.

Q> What advice do you have for independent artists trying to make it in the music industry? 

Tyrone> Stay consistent. Try not to get caught in what everybody else is doing. Be comfortable with being yourself, no matter what that means to you, no matter what that comes with. Just be yourself as much as you can. Continue to strive and do things that is 100% what you stand on, what you believe in.

Q> What is your favourite part of being a SoStereo artist? 

Tyrone> The placements are on fire!. Just like being able to… like, I was at work one day because I still work until five. And one day I was at work, not too long ago, like a week ago; and in my break room, about to go home and the Knicks just won. I was hyped. And then I see my commercial on TV… Toyota… SoStereo… “Temper Tantrum”, shout out to A.R. Yum, shout out to Jo Wabbie, tribute to the record also. And I thought that was pretty cool, that was fire.

Q> Tell us about your song “Champion” and how it came to be!

Tyrone> I think he just had the beat. Like he had the drums laid down, the bass was laid down, and I wrote to that. From there he started building with the horns and stuff, so I matched whatever melodies that was going on with the horns I matched with The melodies of the record like -bam, bam, bam-. I remember that. 

I can’t even tell you how much placements we got for that thing, man. Like we got so many. One of them was the Madison Square Garden. We got a ton of them with SoStereo. I can’t even.
