Behind The Scenes On Amazon's 'The Show Must Go On' With Division

Division production service in Slovenia recently worked with director Melina Matsoukas at Prettybird and agency Lucky Generals on their acclaimed new Christmas spot for Amazon ‘The Show Must Go On’. 

The shoot was scheduled in October,over six days across numerous locations in Ljubljana, which involved complex logistics and licenses for the public areas during Covid.

Rok Bukovec, EP, Division: “Our biggest challenge on this production was finding a UK-style apartment complex and getting permissions to shoot with the hundreds of apartments and inhabitants for almost a week in the middle of a pandemic.  From the moment of client confirmation, we had three weeks to agree and set-up the choice of location and then to manage all the micro-locations within the complex, with director Melina Matsoukas arriving in Slovenia five days prior to the shoot. It was an immense effort but our team took up the challenge and delivered”.

They worked as hard as us and that showed.They provided a sterling crew, some of the best I have ever worked with, shout out to 1st AD, Costume Designer, Art Director andLocation Manager especially and some brilliant casting assistance. Their care and attention to the project, Covid testing and awareness was very good and I have to mention the fantastic recycling at the production company.”
