BBH New York has announced that it has hired Marcos Kotlhar to join its growing creative division, reporting to Chief Creative Officer John Patroulis. Kotlhar has been brought on as an Art Director effective immediately. In his new position, Kotlhar will work across all accounts and help grow the design capability in the agency.
“We’re always looking for the best creative talent in the world, so we went all the way to Sao Paulo to get Marcos,” said Patroulis. “He’s a gifted art director and will bring a very different style to the work we do. We want individual voices and diversity in perspective – Marcos gives us that, and we’re looking forward to getting him in and turning him loose.”
The hire comes on the heels of massive momentum for BBH New York, which produced remarkable creative work like the Sony PlayStation campaign “Greatness Awaits,” which helped catapult the new PS4 console to number 1 in the market. In addition to taking home the Sony PlayStation business last year, BBH New York was also named agency of record for Newell Rubbermaid's 20+ global consumer brands and digital agency of record for Vaseline.
Prior to joining BBH, Kotlhar was Art Director at AlmapBBDO in São Paulo, Brazil, where he worked on national and global campaigns for clients including Havaianas, Getty Images, Visa, HP, and Volkswagen. His background lies in all disciplines of graphic design, having worked in everything from animation at MTV Networks in New York to numerous roles in branding, fashion, and editorial design. Accolades include a number of Cannes Lions and Clio awards, as well as two D&AD yellow pencils and an ADC Young Guns Cube.
