Crystal Rix, chief strategy officer at BBDO New York, will become global chief marketing officer for BBDO Worldwide, in addition to her current role. The announcement was made by Andrew Robertson, president and CEO, BBDO Worldwide, and goes into effect immediately.
“We’ve never had a global chief marketing officer before. Mostly because I’ve never felt we had the right person to do it. Now we do,” said Andrew.
In her new role, Crystal will help shape BBDO’s offering to ensure it is more valuable to, and valued by, clients and prospects; she will play a central role in business development – helping to bring the right models and strategic solutions forward to solve clients’ business problems; and she will continue with her role as chief strategy officer of BBDO New York.
“Over the last 18 months, Crystal has led the team that developed and implemented ‘BBDO Works,’ our new planning process, across the network.” said Andrew. “Her clients are inspired by her thinking and she’s been a major contributor to important new business wins over the years.”
Crystal has been with BBDO for 15 years. Prior to being named chief strategy officer of BBDO New York, she served as director of business development and as planning lead on multiple accounts (including Mars, Inc., AT&T and Barbie). She was named on Ad Age’s '40 Under 40' list in 2016.
