Agency teams with fahrrad.de to turn analogue traffic signs into digital touchpoints

fahrrad.de is one of the largest multichannel online bicycle dealers in Germany. So, in order to continue being where bikers are, BBDO Düsseldorf and fahrrad.de did something very special: Together they developed the Bike-Sign Takeover project.

From now on, Germany’s 100,000 simple traffic signs will become exclusive out-of-home touchpoints for fahrrad.de. Simply download the Snoopstar app from the app store, scan the bike label and discover exclusive, weekly changing, personalised offers from fahrrad.de. all exclusively available through these traffic signs.

To facilitate this, more than 100,000 bike traffic signs across Germany were used.

“Our goal is to always be where the customers are present. So why not go to the public spaces with service points where our fans and customers are? The joint project makes this possible in a simple but also almost playful way,” said Frank Aldorf, EVP marketing brand strategy and people, fahrrad.de GmbH.
