BBDO and the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) have united to offer an e-learning training programme for BBDO Group employees across Asia.
The IPA Foundation Certificate, a stalwart qualification in the UK since 2003, is currently being rolled out to BBDO employees.
The first course will be the Foundation Certificate, aimed at Account Executives and Account Managers region-wide, and will be conducted entirely online. Scheduled to take 25-30hours of self-paced learning followed by a two hour examination, the course will give candidates a thorough understanding of the brand communication process from start to finish; creative development to briefs to implementation. This year over 40 BBDO staff will take part in the course.
Chris Thomas, Chairman & CEO of BBDO Asia, Middle East & Africa said: “The Foundation certificate does what it says on the can. It lays the foundations of basic skills that are needed in our business - skills that are deep, enduring and foundations upon which individual talent can be nurtured and grown."
Patrick Mills, Director of Professional Development, IPA said: “The Foundation Certificate, launched in the UK in 2003, has become the benchmark qualification for practitioners starting their careers and has been adopted by agencies across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. The IPA are thrilled to be partnering with BBDO Asia in providing staff across their network with this development opportunity, it is a major step forward in creating a global standard for industry staff and this partnership will undoubtedly grow the popularity and penetration of the Certificate.”
