Number one dermatologist recommended facial skincare brand Cetaphil has appointed Barbarian
as its global digital agency of record, effective immediately.
Barbarian will be responsible for setting and implementing a new global digital strategy for Cetaphil, which is owned by Galderma - the world’s largest independent dermatology company. Barbarian’s appointment follows its investment last year in new services within the Barbarian Labs division that identify opportunities for brands via a proprietary audit of their entire digital ecosystem through the lens of customer experience.
The agency is tasked with transforming Cetaphil's digital ecosystem and streamlining its global digital properties - including the website, social presence, and retailer activity - paving the way for the brand's digital transformation.
Steven Moy, Barbarian’s CEO, said: “We are thrilled to partner with such an iconic brand, one that has been trusted by millions of consumers for over 70 years, to create breakthrough work across the entire digital ecosystem. Despite these uncertain times, there has never been a better moment for courageous innovation in digital, and we are looking forward to partnering with Cetaphil to create breakthrough, fearless work.”
“More than ever, the digital landscape is fundamentally transforming the way that the skincare category operates. Cetaphil is committed to building a best in class digital experience for our consumers that provides new ways to engage with our brand, purchase our products and improve the lives of those with sensitive skin” said Walter Geiger, head of the global consumer business unit at Galderma.
“From the beginning of the pitch process, Barbarian impressed us with their keen understanding of the skincare category, their methodical strategic approach and their vision for a new Cetaphil digital ecosystem." added global digital and consumer engagement manager at Galderma, Dodie Itaoui. "We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership together.”
Cetaphil appointed Barbarian following a competitive pitch that began in July, and the win continues a successful year for the agency following digital wins in recent months including projects for Reckitt Benckinser, Sprinklr and Ankura Consulting.
