B-Reel Brings Top Tier Talent In-House

The digital production company hires industry veterans Arrow Kruse, Brian Rekasis, Hector Muelas and Ricardo Viramontes

 

Tapping talent from an array of top-tier companies in the entertainment, media and marketing world, B-Reel (http://b-reel.com) today announced it hired industry veterans Brian Rekasis, Hector Muelas, Ricardo Viramontes and Arrow Kruse. 
 
Rekasis, Muelas and Viramontes will operate as a unique team providing creative and strategic guidance across all international offices and departments (Digital, Content, Products, Features, Commercials) of the B-Reel Group. Rekasis will operate as Executive Producer/SVP while Muelas and Viramontes will take the role of Creative Directors.
 
Rekasis’ professional pedigree includes heading Crispin, Porter & Bogusky’s entertainment & new media division, helping lead the global Xbox 360 launch at Microsoft, and being a founding partner and Managing Director of Goodness Mfg. 
 
Muelas’ expertise includes the role of Editor-in-Chief and Creative Director of VICE in Central Europe and senior creative at Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam, while Viramontes spent 8 years as a senior creative at Wieden + Kennedy New York and BSSP in San Francisco. The team recently joined forces at Hollywood’s entertainment powerhouse Creative Artists Agency where, besides being responsible for Chipotle’s award-winning ‘Back To The Start’, they worked with the agency’s A-list roster of clients to develop entertainment and marketing initiatives.
 
Muelas comments: “All three of us have been lucky enough to work across different industries -entertainment, media, art, advertising- and we strongly believe that, independently of what models end up prevailing, the most valuable equity is creative equity -thinking, developing and doing. In addition, B-Reel has launched B-Reel Content, a new division which will focus on the creation, development and production of branded & original content across all formats and platforms. In close collaboration with B-Reel’s other four divisions (Digital, Feature Films, Commercials and Products) B-Reel Content will offer an integrated approach that merges storytelling and innovation to create unique opportunities for clients. Arrow Kruse, who takes the role of Executive Producer/Managing Director of B-Reel Content, will drive and manage the new division in tandem with Founding Partner/Executive Producer Pelle Nilsson.  
 
Kruse, who begun his career as the first interactive producer for Wieden+Kennedy in Portland to later become a producer of W+K Entertainment, also held the role of Global Head of Production for renowned fashion content and talent management agency Art Partner. Over the last twelve years, Kruse has been a Senior Freelance Producer and Head of Production for top agencies in the US such as CAA, McCann/Amsteryard, JWT, Anomaly, GSD&M, Berlin Cameron, and Deutsch.
 
Kruse comments: “The line between marketing, entertainment and technology is quickly disappearing. B-Reel Content will offer its clients film and TV content in all different lengths and formats and will leverage in-house talent as well as the expertise of partners and collaborators from the entertainment, advertising, and art worlds.”
 
Nilsson continues, “We’ve always been about mixing traditional and interactive storytelling and it’s exciting to focus that on longer formats and for different platforms. Above all we’re extremely happy to have Arrow, Brian, Hector and Ricardo as part of the family. I don’t think we could’ve found people more suited for this.”
