The Australasian Writers and Art Directors Association (AWARD) today launches its first iPad app in a progressive move that will make the work of AWARD awards winners accessible in an annually-updated digital showcase.
Replacing the traditional printed winners annual, the new app will present the campaign work from last year’s March event held at Carriageworks – the 33rd AWARD awards.
Transition to digital will enable the creative community to conveniently access the award-winning campaign work wherever they are, while enhancing the viewing experience with the introduction of moving imagery, sound, category filters and the ability to watch, rather than simply describe, showcased footage. While retaining the illusion of a book shell, users are also able to navigate their own journey through the app to source the information they want more easily and efficiently.
Craig Davis, Chairman of AWARD says: "AWARD is about recognising brave and ground-breaking work from the creative industries and it's fitting that we moved "the book" to a purpose built app to showcase the best of AWARD 2012. It means that people here and overseas can enjoy the best of AWARD as a seamless tablet experience. We are the first award show in the world to create a showcase like this."
Recognised as the most prestigious awards show in Australasia, The AWARD awards, now in their 34th year, have attracted around 2000 entries this year. The winners for 2013 will be announced on 21st March at a dedicated ceremony in Sydney’s Town Hall, as part of the three-day circuit breaker event, the 2013 Circus Festival of Commercial Creativity
The AWARD awards app, produced by Future Buro, can now be downloaded free from iTunes.
