The AWARD committee has today announced a mini-creative summit to be held earlier in the day of AWARD Awards on May 25, in partnership with Facebook.
Think:Long will be headed by Wieden + Kennedy’s Co-Chief Creative Officer Susan Hoffman, who joined the agency more than 30 years ago and is behind game-changing ads, including Nike's "If You Let Me Play" and "Revolution" and Old Spice's "The Man Your Man Could Smell Like".
During her Australia visit, Hoffman will explore the concept of ‘bravery’ and how to build brands over time - a fitting topic for the advertising legend who began her career working on the Nike account as W+K’s eighth employee in 1985.
Presented by AWARD and The Communications Council, Think:Long promises to deliver a powerful four-hour show and live debate addressing many of the industry’s biggest issues.
AWARD Chair, Mike Spirkovski said, “Our industry is more competitive than ever with brands, agencies and individuals struggling to stay relevant each day. This is compounded by speed to market, fragmented media-channels, shrinking budgets and an audience that has no time to consume the ordinary. This is fast creating an industry-wide anxiety that’s forcing agencies and brands to lose focus on the long term, to the detriment of brand longevity and creativity.”
Adding: “If you care about creativity and have concerns about the future you shouldn’t miss Think:Long.”
Susan Hoffman will be joined by:
CEO of The Communications Council, Tony Hale said, “This is a brilliant initiative of the AWARD committee. The Think:Long creative summit leverages debate around critical industry initiatives at the same time as we celebrate the very best of the year.”
Panel moderator and Humdinger Sydney founder Al Crawford will question the speakers on the challenges facing creative leaders today, from building brands and trust over time, helping clients to have the courage to stick it out, the future of pricing models, and how creatives can build and sustain a long, successful career.
Date: Friday 25th May 2018
Time: 10.00am to 2.00pm (includes lunch)
