Old El Paso, the Official Meal Kit Partner of the Australian Olympic Team at the Paris 2024 Olympics, has today announced their Home Team star athletes. As part of the “Make Some Noise” campaign, the Home Team captures the Olympic spirit that unites the nation every four years.
Ahead of the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics, Old El Paso is encouraging Aussie families to come together, soak up the energy and atmosphere of the Games, and cheer on our local athletes through shared mealtime rituals that connect households around Olympic moments.
The impressive green and gold roster for Old El Paso includes Logan Martin, professional Freestyle BMX star who won gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Mackenzie Arnold, two time Olympian and team captain and goalkeeper for Women’s Super League club West Ham United, and Patty Mills, Australian Team flag bearer and bronze medallist with the Boomers at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and currently playing for Miami Heat in the NBA.
Old El Paso brings not only the taste, but the fun of getting together and sharing Mexican inspired food, producing tacos, tortillas, seasoning and condiments. As with the Paris 2024 Olympics, Mexican inspired mealtimes are for everyone and the campaign aims to connect food and sport as essential elements of Australian culture, to encourage people to make some noise for their Home Team - whether that’s at home or on the global stage.
Logan Martin says, “For a lot of athletes needing to refuel and reset after a long day of intense training, mealtimes are for families to come together and enjoy sharing vibrant flavours and connect over fun stories around the dinner table.”
Mackenzie Arnold expresses her excitement, “Nothing unites the squad like the hard graft of training for big matches as a team. We also share the love of gathering to enjoy delicious home cooked meals with everyone bringing their own flavour to the table.”
Patty Mills adds, “As I’m mentally getting in the zone for Paris, uniting over fun flavours at the dinner table with my home team, combined with the ease of rustling up some Old El Paso speedy Mexican style food makes for the perfect pre-game mealtime choice.”
“At the heart of every great meal is a great team, and Old El Paso is helping create authentic and meaningful connections to support athletes in the lead-up, during and post the Olympics,” said Bronwyn Cheng, Head of World Foods, Old El Paso. “Nothing brings people and their communities together like sport or tucking into their favourite meals and we’re proud to be the meal kit partner of choice for Aussies wanting to champion the heroic efforts of Team Australia in Paris this year.”
“We’re excited to cheer on the home team along with the millions of Australians watching throughout July and August, encouraging everyone to get together and share our Old El Paso mealtime moments and making some noise whilst supporting the pinnacle of sporting talent.”
To further support the campaign, Old El Paso have launched Limited Edition Australian Olympic Team themed packs across six of their key products featuring the “Home Team” athletes that are in store now.
