Standard Chartered Hong Kong is partnering with the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation to host their annual Standard Chartered Arts in the Park Mardi Gras at Victoria Park this weekend.
The largest community arts event in Hong Kong brings the talents of thousands of young people working together with local artists to create giant puppets, dramatic costumes as well as dance performances and art exhibits all in the name of promoting the Hong Kong art scene.
Lindsey McAlister, Founder and Director, Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation, said, “Standard Chartered Arts in the Park is a fantastic opportunity for thousands of talented young artists to express and share their artistic talents with the Hong Kong public. Over the past few years, we’ve had tremendous success with over 70,000 visitors last year. We want to continue and develop the success of the event, engaging creatively with our visitors and make sure that they leave with lasting memories of a great event.” McAlister added, “This year, the parade will take to the streets of Causeway Bay for the first time, allowing more visitors to enjoy the spectacle which is made up of art creations and dance routines.”
TBWA\Hong Kong, the bank’s creative agency of record, has developed an interactive game using mobile augmented reality (AR) to welcome visitors to the event. The game will feature the Arts in the Park clown mascot who challenges visitors to match his poses and creating artwork snapshots of their moves. If the player successfully matches three poses, they will be able to collect their personal snapshot as a souvenir. Visitors are also invited to ‘like’ the official Arts in the Parks Facebook fan page to receive a digital copy of their Art in the Park experience and share with family and friends.
