Arcade Film Factory Becomes First Philippine Production Company to Win at the LIAs

Three year-old production company from Makati, Arcade Film Factory, has just made Philippine history by winning a Silver and a Bronze at the 2022 London International Awards. 

By doing so, it became the first-ever Philippine production company to win an LIA statue since the show's creation in 1986. This milestone from the Philippines was headlined by its work Cheers ‘Party’ created with independent agency GIGIL for client Sanitary Care Products Asia.

Arcade Film Factory received two metals in the Production & Post-Production Category: a Silver for Direction, and a Bronze for Production Design. GIGIL also won a Silver for the same work, but this time in the Online Film Category.

When asked about the win, Jeorge Agcaoili, President of Arcade Film Factory shared: “First of all, we’re grateful to Barbara, Laurissa, and the entire LIA team. Thank you for allowing production companies like us to be recognized on the global stage. We’d also like to thank the renowned LIA judges from all over the world who believed we deserved this recognition. Lastly, we’d like to congratulate our youngest co-founder, Marius Talampas, for his first international win as a director!”

Marius Talampas, when asked about this milestone win for his career, joked: “I didn’t think dancing ‘budots’ during the shoot of this film would pay off this big. If this is what it takes, I’m looking forward to dance more in my upcoming shoots.”

The Making of Cheers ‘Party’

Just last August 2022, Arcade Film Factory has also been recognized by Campaign Brief Asia’s THE WORK 2022 as the #1 Production Company in the Philippines, and #2 in Asia. In that show, they secured 8 acceptances for 8 unique works across 8 different clients together with agencies GIGIL, Dentsu JaymeSyfu, and FCB Manila. 

Arcade Film Factory has also been the production partner behind the Philippines’ last two Film Lions wins at the Cannes Lions International Festival for Creativity, helping GIGIL win Bronze Lions for RC Cola ‘Family’ in 2020/21, and Cheers ‘Party’ in 2022.
