The Somesuch director’s visual accompaniment to ‘Trouble in Town’ touches on social issues via anthropomorphic characters
Aoife McArdle’s Coldplay Video is Like Animal Farm in a Gritty, Neon-Lit City
Aoife McArdle took the helm on the new music video for Coldplay track ‘Trouble in Town’.

The Somesuch director’s promo expands on the themes of the song, taken from the album ‘Everyday Life’, including homelessness, racial and social inequality and police brutality, via an ensemble of anthropomorphic characters leading interwoven lives on the mean-looking streets of an anonymous city. We meet politician pigs, street-hustling foxes and an officious snow leopard cop.

There are echoes of Animal Farm (the dystopian George Orwell classic even makes an appearance itself) throughout, but with a neon, film-noir aesthetic.
