Gallimore poached from Grey London

Engine, the UK’s largest independent communications group, has further strengthened its management team with the hire of Grey London’s Annie Gallimore as managing partner.

Gallimore joins the company this month and will predominantly be responsible for leading Engine’s government work.

This will include overseeing the existing governmental relationships that Engine holds, as well as developing new business opportunities from the Government Procurement Service.

Engine won a place on the Government’s Creative and PR frameworks in February, and has already picked up business from HMRC and the Department of Business, Innovation & Skills since the appointment.

Prior to joining Engine, Gallimore spent more than three years at Grey London as a managing partner, working across a client list that included GSK and Dairy Crest. She also led the British Heart Foundation business, helping to produce multi award-winning campaigns such as ‘Hard & Fast’ and ‘The Angina Monologues’.

Gallimore began her career as an account director at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, before moving client side in 2004 to join Waterstones as Brand and Direct Marketing Manager.

She was promoted to Customer Insight and CRM Manager of the retailer in 2006, and became overall Head of Marketing three years later.

During this time she created and launched the Waterstones Card loyalty scheme, which won the Diamond Award at the IDM Business Performance Awards.

Gallimore said: “Engine is an exciting and ambitious company that is set up perfectly to service the needs of clients in the current age. Its track record is outstanding and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the challenges ahead.”

Debbie Klein, the Chief Executive of Engine UK, said: “Engine and its companies have an illustrious history working on Government campaigns, and we’re looking forward to Annie joining to further add to and strengthen those relationships. Annie has an proven track record working on both the agency and client sides, and will be another excellent addition to our management team.”
