Animatronic Squirrel Has Partied Too Much in Nick Roney’s Darkly Comic Real Estate Video
The new video for Real Estate single ‘Paper Cup’ by Nick Roney is a twisted comedy vision of a furry animatronic entertainer who’s seen better
In 2019 the Californian director caused a collective crick in the neck of the music video community as he turned heads across it with his incomparable music video for Girl by Cayucas. He subsequently signed to Stink and picked up two UKMVAs.
Now he’s back with a video telling a sad but humorous tale of a mechanical squirrel whose guitar-playing days look to be coming to an end. A young boy happens upon the entertainment emporium in which the squirrel performs and watches in horror as the black comedy unfurls.
It's a departure from Nick’s videos for The Lemon Twigs and Cayucas where he and members of his family have played key roles, but similar in the dark humour that runs through it.
