Andre Maat Signs to Darling Films for UK Representation

Darling Films has announced the signing of director Andre Maat for UK representation.

With eccentric characters and interesting art direction Andre’s work is playful, humorous and imaginative. He is known for his smart in-camera effects and visual trickery like split screens, flipbooks, stop-motion, animated GIFs or optical illusions. Andre has been showcasing the more comedic side of his reel of late with the ever popular ‘How to Eat Noodles Like a Boss’ and his quirky short ‘Kristmas Merry’.

With a background in promos, Andre seamlessly made the move into commercials a decade ago creating work for clients including Toyota, Burger King, Philips, Google and leading agencies such as 72andSunny, R/GA, Wieden+Kennedy, Heimat, Tribal DDB, R/GA and CPB.

Darling Films EP Kat Downs commented: “Having worked with Andre in the past I was thrilled when he got in touch upon our launch of Darling. I’ve always been drawn to his quirky humour and visual sense of style.”

Clare Timms, Joint MD of Darling Films, said: “Andre has been back-to-back shooting so we’ve been waiting for a window in which to launch him! Very happy to add his array of talents to the Darling roster.”

Director André Maat said: “It’s a blast to team up with Darling in the UK. They come with impressive production experience, paired with a very personal and passionate approach to commercial filmmaking.”
